Man killed when hit on I-57

A man died when he was hit by a semi Monday morning on I-57. Illinois State Police say it was just before 9 yesterday morning when the person was hit by the semi in the southbound lanes of I-57 near the 308 exit on the far south side of Kankakee. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner says the deceased was an unidentified black man. Troopers had to close the interstate between the 312 and 308 exits for several hours to investigate the crash.
