During Wednesday morning’s meeting of the Kankakee County Board’s Executive Committee, the Kankakee/Iroquois Regional Superintendent of Schools Doctor Patricia High told the committee her office is tracking 601 truant students in Kankakee County right now and another 104 truants in Iroquois County
Dr. High was asked if anything can be done about the truancy issue
High said the parents are sometimes the issue, not allowing workers in the home or becoming combative with truancy officers
