Juvenile with a gun arrested in Kankakee

Kankakee City Police report the arrest of a juvenile Thursday on weapons charges. According to reports, officers we’re called to a business in the 500 block of Riverstone Parkway about 20 minutes before Noon Thursday for a weapons call. When police arrived, the caller stated she saw a male 17 year-old juvenile who she was familiar with, lift up his shirt and display a firearm. Detectives were able to get a description of the juvenile and his home address from the caller. Police located the juvenile in the 300 block of North Dearborn Avenue and detained him after a short food chase. Officers located a black pistol with a silver extended magazine in the fenced in yard of a home in the 400 block of North Indiana Avenue along the path the juvenile suspect had ran. He was transported to the Kankakee City Police Department and charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon under the age of 21, among other charges
