Illinois lawmakers are sending legislation designed to curb junk fees to Governor Pritzker’s desk. The state Senate passed a measure designed to target mandatory fees tacked onto purchases. These include “convenience” or “processing fees” for booking a hotel, buying tickets to a live event, or ordering food via delivery apps. Pritzker said he looks forward to signing the bill into law and banning hidden junk fees.
