Not enough trustees showed up last night for the Village of Manteno to hold a Board meeting. Absences included trustees CJ Boudreau, Joel Gesky, Todd Crockett, and Annette Zimbelman. Mayor Annette LaMore spoke about the whereabouts of each trustee.
LaMore said Trustee Zimbelman was the only trustee she has not heard from. Mayor LaMore tried to use Village code which says an attending officer can notify any absent members, who can be found within the village. After notice and request, if the member still refuses to attend, the officer can arrest the member and bring them in. Manteno Police Chief Al Swinford was sent out to notify Zimbelman at her residence, but was unable to find her. We reached out to Trustee Zimbelman for comment, but have not heard anything at this time. Items on the agenda included appointing a village clerk, FOIA officer, a code enforcement officer, and the payment of bills in just under 124,000 dollars.
