Beecher Police have issued a “community safety notice” after they got several reports over the weekend of teenagers ringing doorbells and kicking or banging on doors at homes throughout the community then running away. In a Facebook post, Beecher Police say while it may be intended as a prank, the behavior can cause fear, property damage and unnecessary concern by residents. Beecher Police suggest people keep their doors locked and avoid opening the door for strangers, report suspicious activity to the police and call 9-11 if you think there was an attempted break-in or immediate threat. Beecher Police also ask people talk to their kids about respect of personal property and what could happen with this type of behavior.
