During this morning’s meeting of the Kankakee County Board’s Highways, Waterways and Buildings committee, committee members got an update on plans that are moving forward in Northwest Indiana for a data center and natural gas power generation plant. Committee Chairman Antonio Carrico

Carrico pointed out flooding could also be an issue. He added 40th District State Senator Patrick Joyce has already sent a letter to the State of Indiana voicing concerns about the health of the river in Illinois as the project moves forward. The Highways, Waterways and Buildings committee voted to send a similar letter, supporting Senator Joyce’s efforts.
