The Fourth Ward in the City of Kankakee has a new alderman today. During a special meeting of the City Council last night, Lance Marzak was chosen to take the place of Frank Hasick who won the seat during April’s election, but was unable to take the seat since he works as a firefighter for the city. Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis says he chose Marzak because he was looking for someone similar to Hasik. Alderman approved Marzak by a 9-0 vote.
