Kankakee man arrested by State Police

Illinois State Police report the arrest of a 32-year-old Kankakee man. According to reports, just before 11:30 Tuesday morning, troopers stopped a car for a traffic violation at the corner of East Court Street and Greenwood Avenue in Kankakee. During the investigation, troopers arrested the passenger, Jerome L. Simms of Kankakee on preliminary charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, and Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer, among other charges.
