Indiana Town Marshall Shot, Shooter Dead

A Wolcott town Marshall was shot last night while trying to serve a warrant at a home in the 400 block of West Anderson Street in the White County, Indiana town.    The arrest warrant was for 56 year old Perry Boyd. Police say Boyd retreated into the home when the Marshall and other officers arrived, they went into the home after him and gunfire broke out.  The Marshall’s injuries are described as non-life threatening.  Boyd was struck with gunfire as well.  He died from his wounds later at the hospital.  Indiana State Police investigating.
