Manteno Police report the arrests of a pair of men in connection with last week’s death of 61-year-old Richard A. Alverson. Alverson was found unconscious in his home Thursday night and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Manteno police say surveillance video from nearby homes helped them identify a vehicle thought to have been used during the crime. That car was located at a home in Bradley where 19-year-old Benjamin J. Anderson of rural Bourbonnais and 18-year-old Andre H. McGraw of Bradley were taken into custody on preliminary charges of first-degree murder. Both are being held in the Jerome Combs Detention Center on five-million-dollars bond.
