Fishing Derby Postponed

This year’s Fishing Derby has been postponed. Originally scheduled for July third through the 11th, derby officials say it has been put off to July 9th though the 18th. The reason for the delay, they say, is because of recent heavy rains which have made it impossible for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to safely assist with Shock and Tag day this week. Since the tagging is important to the derby, it was determined it was best to put this year’s derby off by one week to accommodate the IDNR.
