Fatal Crash in Iroquois County

The Illinois State Police and Iroquois County Coroner’s office are looking into a crash Tuesday afternoon that took the life of a 20-year-old woman from rural Ashkum. Iroquois County Coroner Bill Cheatum’s office says it was about five last night, the Jeep driven by the woman was northbound on County Line Road at Route 116 when the jeep started to turn left and pulled into the path of an eastbound semi. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
