Garth Gets 48 Years

Ashley Garth, one of two people charged with the murder of 30 year old Nicole Bowen has been sentenced in Newton County Court to 48 years behind bars.  Bowen was killed in 2019, her body was discovered in an old semi-truck trailer in rural Newton County.  She had been strangled to death with an extension cord.  Garett Kirts was sentenced earlier for his part in the homicide and is dong 55 years.  Garth won’t be eligible for parole until April of 2056.
