15-year-old Kankakeean Killed in Tuesday Shooting

A few more details now on the Tuesday shooting that left a 15-year-old Kankakee boy dead. Kankakee City Police were called to the 11-hundred block of East Merchant Street just before four Tuesday afternoon for a report of shots fired. When they got there, officers found Davarion Jones laying near the street. Kankakee Fire Department personnel took Jones to St. Mary’s Hospital in critical condition. He was flown to Loyola Medical center where he later died from his injuries. City of Kankakee detectives interviewed several witnesses, but so far, no arrests have been made.
