Bourbonnais Water System Sale Informational Meeting Thursday Night

The sale of the Bourbonnais wastewater treatment system to Aqua Illinois will the subject of an informational meeting tomorrow night.   The Daily Journal reports after 3 years of negotiations, the two sides agreed on a 31.1 million dollar sale price that will move home owners to a consumption based system.  Beginning in May of next year customers will pay a monthly fee of 40 dollars for the first 1000 gallons of water used.  That’s less than the current 42 dollar a month flat rate, but if your family uses more than a 1000 gallons a month you’ll pay for the additional water.  The sale still needs the approval of the Illinois Commerce Commission.  The meeting is tomorrow night at the Bourbonnais Municipal Center Community Room from 6 until 8.
