3 million dollars could be on its way to Pembroke Township for an infrastructure development pilot project thanks to Congresswoman Robin Kelly. Kelly says the funding is part of 6.7 million dollars earmarked for the district in House Appropriations Bills. The money would be used in Pembroke to improve communications and energy infrastructure, including investment in broadband internet, cellular phone service and natural gas pipelines. Also in the funding is 177,000 dollars for the Career Center in Bourbonnais for upgrading equipment and a Career Guidance Counselor. And 90 thousand dollars for a Child Birth Simulator at Olivet Nazarene University for training in the schools nursing program. A vote on the spending plans is expected this week.
