Kankakee City Police Arrest Pair Following Chase

City Police report a car chase Saturday evening ended with an arrest. According to reports, officers were called to the 700 b lock of East Merchant just before 5:30 Saturday night for a report of a white construction van and sedan chasing and shooting at one another. Following a chase across a good portion of the city, police finally stopped the sedan in the 800 block of East Emory, where three people jumped from the car and took off on foot. City police were able to arrest the alleged driver, 21-year-old Marcos C. Gutierrez for aggravated fleeing and eluding. The driver of the van, identified as 40-year-old Donald Arnold was taken into custody on similar charges.
