Grundy County Coroner John Callahan’s office and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office are looking into a crash Saturday afternoon that killed a six year old girl.
According to reports, the car driven by the child’s mother was northbound on Route 66, approaching the stop sign at Route 53 about 1:30 Saturday afternoon, when she lost control of the car which rolled several times coming to a final rest in the field next to the Gardner American Legion. Additionally, reports say the child, identified as Ryliegh Williams who was reportedly from outside the area, was thrown from the car and was transported to Morris Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The crash remains under investigation by Callahan’s Office and the Grundy County Sheriff’s department.
