Overnight Storms cause Damage in Southeastern Kankakee County

Aug 12, 2021 | 9:40 AM
Just when we thought we may have dodged damage from the sever storms that have moved through the area the last few days, last night’s storms reported caused damage to the southeastern portion of the county. Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police report several trees down on Heiland Road and on county roads out near Pembroke. County Highway crews and township crews were out overnight clearing the roadways and it’s thought most have been reopened. Power was also out to several homes in the southeastern portion of the county, but most of that is thought to have been restored, though some homes on Bittersweet off Heiland Road are still without power this morning.
