Bond’s been set at three-million dollars for the man accused of murder in the death of one of the two men killed in a shootout just south of the Kankakee County Courthouse last Thursday. The Daily Journal reports Miguel Andrade’s bond was set in a bond hearing held Saturday. The 23-year-old Andrade is charged with murder and possession of a stolen firearm in the death of Antonio Hernandez. Kankakee Police say Hernandez approached Miguel Andrade, Victor Andrade and a third man as they left the Courthouse last Thursday and opened fire, killing Victor Andrade and injuring the third man in the group. Miguel Andrade then allegedly went to his car and retrieved at least one firearm he then used in a running gunbattle with Hernandez that ended with Hernandez’ death. Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe has asked for a special prosecutor to handle Andrade’s case since several people from his department witnessed the shooting which could cause a conflict of interest.
