Double Fatal Accident on Route 17 near Bonfield

Illinois State Police are looking into a crash late Tuesday night that killed two people on Route 17 near Bonfield. According to reports, a car driven by 47-year-old Jerry Stallins of Bourbonnais was westbound on Route 17 near 11-thousand West Road just before midnight last night when for some unknown reason Stallins’ car crossed the center line and hit the eastbound car driven by 37-year-old Michael Jordan of Kankakee head-on causing both cars to burst into flame. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner says both Stallins and Jordan were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
