2nd Person Arrested in Brummet Death

Kankakee County Sheriffs police have made a second arrest in connection with death of 45 year old Jason Brummet of DeMotte, Indiana.    38 year old Jason E. Wolford of Pembroke Township was arrested Thursday on a charge of concealment of a homicide.  Brummet was found dead in the bedroom of a trailer in May of this year, his decomposing body covered in clothing.  33 year old Jessica L. Merillat was arrested a few days later also on a concealment charge.  Merillat tells police she and Brummet had been doing drugs for several days at the home, when at some point Wolford joined them.   According to Merillat, Brummet died after she and Wolford left the trailer.  When the two returned she says they found Brummet dead.   Kankakee County police found the body while making a welfare check requested by the Lake County Indiana sheriff’s department who had been looking for Brummet and had pinged his phone to Pembroke Township.  Police say the body had been there for several days
