We’re learning from Will County Court records that Facebook played a role in locating the body of 34 year old Katie Kearns back in November of 2017. Her body was discovered still in her vehicle inside a pole barn on property in St Anne after authorities requested Facebook provide the last activity on her account. Facebook was able to tell police the last activity was on her cell phone and gave investigators the latitude and longitude where the device was used which led police to the St Anne property where her body was found. Prosecutors contend Kearns of Mokena was killed at the Joliet bar where she worked as a bartender and her body dumped in St. Anne. They’ve charged 36 year old Jeremy Boshears with her murder. He is still awaiting trial.
