Kankakee City Police report a traffic stop early this morning resulted in a gun arrest. According to reports, officers stopped a pick-up driven by 28-year-old David D. Jeffrie on West Station Street just after midnight this morning for allegedly not having a license plate. While talking to Jeffrie, officers found him to be wanted on an outstanding Kankakee County warrant. A search of the pickup allegedly turned up a suspected automatic weapon. Jeffrie was arrested for numerous weapons violations as well as the outstanding warrant.
