A traffic stop Wednesday afternoon netted Kankakee City Police a gun arrest. According to reports, it was about a quarter past three Wednesday afternoon when officers spotted an SUV driven by 23-year-old Nijah S. Berry run a stop sign at the intersection of North Fairmont and East Cedar as a school bus dropped off a student on East Cedar. Police say they stopped Berry and it turned out she was allegedly driving on a suspended license. A search of Berry’s purse allegedly turned up suspected cannabis and a handgun.
