Crescent City man killed in weekend accident on I-57

We have an update now on that fatal accident over the weekend on I-57 near Peotone/Wilmington Road. Illinois State Police now say 50-year-old Earl T. Rice Junior of Crescent City was walking away from his disabled car on the southbound side of the interstate about seven Sunday night when he reportedly entered the roadway and was hit by oncoming traffic. Rice was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been filed just yet, but the State Police say the crash investigation is open and ongoing.
