Nov 22, 2021 | 10:35 AM
Local COVID numbers continue to climb. County Health Department Administrator John Bevis:

Bevis says so far only about five-percent of children between the ages of 5 and 18 have been vaccinated against the virus, well under the state-wide average of 11 percent. Bevis adds he has a recipe for a healthy Thanksgiving this year:

Bevis suggests you check ahead for COVID restrictions if you’re flying over the holiday and he stresses if you want to be vaccinated you could complete the vaccination cycle between now and Christmas. As of last Friday there have been just over 19-thousand confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county since the pandemic began. 282 County residents have died of COVID-related illnesses.
