The Newton County Indiana Sheriff’s Police report an incident Thursday ended in the suspected death of a 40-year-old Goodland man.  According to reports, officers were called to home on South Newton Street in Goodland for an unknown problem. When they got there, deputies spoke to a woman who told them her brother was “out of control” and was “destroying the house”.  Reports say deputies started to take Kevin W. Stone into custody and he allegedly started to fight and at one point charged police. Reports go on to say Stone ran back into the house and officers could hear him breaking windows, but he refused to speak with police. A short time later, police say smoke was seen coming from an upstairs window and before long the home was fully involved in flame. Fire departments from Goodland and Kentland were called in to put out the fire. Once the fire was out, the remains of a person were found upstairs. Officials are waiting for DNA test results for a positive identification
