And with that a new tradition was born in the Village of Bourbonnais. Several hundred people gathered Thursday evening for the first ever lighting of the official Bourbonnais Christmas tree at the triangle in front of the Dairy Queen. Schore, along with the winners of the Village Holiday Coloring Contest threw the switch to light the tree. Those winners were Max Edwards in the ages six and under category, Peter Manes in the seven to 10 year old category, Ellen Ehrman in the all-ages/family category and Kathryn Hofman in the special needs category.
