The Illinois State Police say they’re looking into a non-fatal officers involved shooting in Iroquois County. Troopers say they were called in by Iroquois County Sheriff Clinton Perzee to investigate the Friday night shooting which involved an Iroquois County Sheriff’s Deputy. State Police say so far their investigation has shown that just after 9:30 Friday night, Iroquois County Deputies responded to a home in rural Danforth for a call of a domestic disturbance. Reports say the 40-year-old man that had been part of the dispute was gone when deputies got there, but returned before they left. Deputies say the man “took actions which endangered the lives of the other residents as well as the Deputies”, so Deputies discharged their weapons striking the man. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive. No officers or other residents were injured during the incident. State police say the investigation is open and ongoing.
