Illinois is reducing the recommended quarantine time for students and teachers from ten to five days. The change applies to all public and nonpublic schools that serve students in pre-K through 12th grade. The guidance says students and employees who test positive for COVID-19 must stay home for a minimum of five days and a maximum of ten days after the first day of symptoms regardless of vaccination status.
