Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police make an arrest in Loda shooting

Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police report they have one in custody following an early morning shooting Wednesday in Loda. Deputies report the arrest of 22-year-old Colton M. Johnson of Loda  who was arrested on firearms charges in connection with yesterday morning’s shooting that sent a 19-year-old man to the hospital. According to reports, deputies were called to the home in Loda early yesterday morning for someone bleeding from the head. When they got there, deputies say it was discovered the person had been shot in the head and the victim was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana where he remains in critical condition. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit was called in to help with the investigation which is ongoing.
