Braidwood Police Arrest Elgin Man for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse

Braidwood Police report the arrest of a 21-year-old Elgin man on sex abuse charges over the weekend. According to reports, while doing a business check early Saturday morning, Braidwood officers noticed what they call a “suspicious vehicle” with two people inside. During the investigation officers say they found 21-year-old Alexander Carachure had traveled from Elgin to meet with a girl he knew to be 14-years-old, after meeting the girl on a popular social media website. Braidwood Police arrested Carachure for aggravated criminal sexual abuse, grooming and traveling to meet a minor.
