COVID-19 numbers in Indiana are beginning to fall following the omicron surge. The Indiana Department of Public Health reports just over 2,600 cases today, but the number of deaths statewide is still elevated at 113. Four of those were in our listening area with 3 in Jasper County and 1 in Newton County. Jasper County has now had 126 fatalities since the pandemic began Newton County has seen 63 people die from the virus.
