Districts Change Mask Requirements

Local school districts are scrambling after a Sangamon County Judge Friday issued a restraining order that reduces district’s abilities to require masks and vaccinations.  The Manteno School District held an “emergency meeting” last night with “amend return to learn plan to make masks optional” as the only action item on the agenda.  The Bourbonnais Elementary District has a special meeting scheduled for tomorrow night. In a letter home to parents, BBCHS announced they’d be moving to “masks recommended, but not required” while the St. George District announced they would “suspend enforcement” of the mask mandate. The Illinois attorney general is seeking an expedited appeal of the restraining order.
