Former Paxton Mayor Dies

A former longtime mayor of Paxton has died.  Jim Kingston served as Paxton’s mayor for 28 years.  He was first elected in 1977 at the age of 32 and retired in 2005.  When elected he was the youngest person to ever serve in that position.  Kingston also served two terms before that as a city alderman.   Kingston passed away Tuesday at the age of 78.  There’s no word on a cause of death.
