Crash kills two

Illinois State Police are looking into the cause of a crash that killed two people at the intersection of Routes 1&17 east of Kankakee last night. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner says the crash involved a car and a pick-up and happened just before six last night. Gessner says 73-year-old Karen Kay Suffin of Watseka and 27-year-old Prince Trowell of Kankakee were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Gessner says Suffin was a passenger in the pick-up while Trowell was a passenger in the car. Both drivers were taken to area hospitals to be treated for injures.
