The price of a gallon of gasoline continues to go up with no end in sight. The latest from Triple-A shows the national average price for a gallon of regular no-lead is four-dollars-and-a-quarter, while the average price in Illinois is nearly 4.53. The average price for a gallon of gas in Kankakee County is 4.56, that’s up another six cents since yesterday, up 61 cents in the past week, 95 cents in the past month and a-dollar-67 cents higher than a years ago. Iroquois county reports about four-and-a quarter a gallon. Chicago still has the most expensive gas in the state at near 4.69 a gallon.
