Former Jasper County Sheriff Wallace Dies

There is sad news from Jasper County.  The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department says former longtime Sheriff James K. Wallace has passed away.  Wallace led the department from January of 1995 until his retirement in 2002.  Wallace was the first of three generations of Jasper County law enforcement officers. Wallace was followed on the department by Jason Wallace, the current Chief Deputy, and grandson Micah Wallace. He is the son of Jason Wallace, a former Deputy Sheriff. The cause of death was not announced.  Services are still pending.
