Iroquois County crash claims Iroquois man

Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police report a pair oftraffic crashes in the county over the weekend. The first, according to reports, happened Saturday when a car driven by 48-year-old Heather Pelehowski of Donovan was eastbound on Lincoln Avenue in Iroquois when, police say, she failed to stop at the intersection with Route 52 and was hit by a southbound semi driven by a 33-year-old man from Humble Texas. A passengers in Pelehowski’s car, 46-year-old Adam Gordon of Iroquois was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. Pelehowski as taken to Riverside to be treated for injuries. Iroquois County Sheriff’s Deputies ticketed Pelehowski for DUI as well as traffic violations. The accident is still under investigation.
