Police arrest Rensselaer man for alleged attempted murder

Rensselaer Indiana Police report an arrest in connection with a shooting in the city late last week. According to reports, it was late Friday night when Rensselaer police along with officers from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office were called because of a person that had been shot in the area of Grove and Augusta Streets. Officers searched the area and collected evidence. That evidence along with evidence from a search warrant led to the arrest of 19-year-old Levi Pacific of Rensselaer who allegedly told police he’d shot the other person in self-defense. Rensselaer Police arrested Pacific for attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon among other charges.
