BESD #53 seats new Board member

The Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 Board of Education has a new Board member. In a special meeting last night, the Board voted to seat Jamie Freedlund to the seat vacated when Priscilla Dwyer resigned about a month ago. Freedlund was a member of the Board from 2017-2021 and was the fifth highest vote getter in the April 2021 election, losing the seat by only a handful of votes. Freedlund will have to run for election in 2023 in a special election to finish the rest of Dwyer’s unfulfilled term which expires in April of 2025.  Dwyer held the seat for less than 10 months.
