Handgun Stolen from Car in Kankakee

City Police were called to the 700 block of South Elm Wednesday morning after the owner of an SUV discovered her car had been broken into. The owner of the SUV told city police her daughter had gone out to the car Tuesday night and had forgotten to lock the doors when she was done. When she went out to the car Wednesday, the owner found someone had gone through the car and stolen two dollars and a 9 millimetre handgun from the center console.
