Traffic Stop Nets City Police a Drug Arrest

A traffic stop Wednesday netted Kankakee City Police a drug arrest. Reports say it was just before three Wednesday afternoon that city police pulled over the car driven by 28-year-old Bijou D. Williams in the 200 block of North Hunter Avenue for a traffic violation. While talking to Williams, officers say they could smell the odor of burnt cannabis coming from the car and could allegedly see a baggie of cannabis within arms reach of the driver. A search of the car allegedly turned up a quantity of a controlled substance in the trunk of the car. Williams was arrested by city police for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
