Ford County Crash Kills Piper City Teen

Illinois State Police report a single-car crash in Ford County Thursday took the life of a Piper City teen. According to reports, the car driven by 24-year-old Randy O. Lopez of Piper City was northbound on Route 115 near Ford County road 1175 when the car went across the roadway, hit a guardrail and went into the ditch. Both Lopez and a passenger in the car were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Another passenger, identified as 19-year-old Anayeli I. Medina of Piper City was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. State Police continue to look into the crash.
