Channahon Needs New Source of Water

The Village of Channahon is looking for a new source of water.  Currently the village draws its deep well water from the Ironton Galesville Aquifer, but that is drying up and expected to be exhausted shortly after 2030.  Joliet officials had the same problem, but recently signed a 99 year deal with Chicago for Lake Michigan water.  One of the options being considered by the Channahon is drawing water from the Kankakee River, but that would mean the construction of a water treatment plant
