Traffic stop Nets Kankakee City Police a Gun Arrest

Kankakee City Police report a traffic stop over the weekend ended with officers taking a gun off the streets. According to reports, it was just before 1:30 Saturday morning officers stopped a car driven by Brandon Jones at the intersection of East Chestnut and North Chicago Avenue for a traffic violation. Police say there was an alleged bottle of alcohol in the middle console and another on the floorboard of the car. While taking Jones into custody, a search of the car allegedly turned up a loaded handgun as well. Police say Jones was taken into custody on various gun and alcohol related charges.
