Rabid bats found in Kankakee County

The Kankakee County Health Department has announced that two bats found in the City of Kankakee this past month have tested positive for rabies. The Health Department warns that rabid bats could be found anywhere in Kankakee County and remind you not to try to handle any bats you may find in your home or any other location. They say the best thing to do if you come across a bat is to isolate yourself and others from the bat and call animal control
