Kankakee Man Injured in Weekend Fire

A 26-year-old Kankakee man was injured in a fire in his home in the 11-hundred block of Chicago Place early Saturday morning. Kankakee Fire reports say the fire broke out about two Saturday morning while the man was home with his wife and one-year-old child. The man was taken to the hospital with second and third degree burns. Both the man’s wife and their child were uninjured by the blaze which caused about 10-thousand-dollars worth of damage to the home . The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it’s thought to have been related to cooking.
